I was born in Wigan, Lancashire, this unique northern, industrial urban place has had a profound influence on how I see aspects of life. I am interested in the beauty, landscape and water especially canal, moorland and the sea. The history of the people and their way of life formed from the surroundings is part of the story of this landscape. Amongst the landscape are the all-pervasive scourges of dereliction, industrial architecture and pollution in everyday life which fuel my imagination and creativity.
The underlying theme of my work are the environmental issues of pollution which in its many forms threatens our heritage.
In my work I use mixed media, photography, printing and painting. I try to use recycled materials, old art materials, discarded plastic and paper as resources.
Our Legacy to the next generation is to bequeath a pollution free world and reduce our environmental impact before it is too late….
