I am a visual artist working predominantly with paint. I explore the shifting landscape and fragility of our surroundings, my work relates to the impact of external factors. I believe painting through its textures and relationship to colour acts as a very visceral medium, exposing and exploring ideas around shifting environments. The figures I paint are faceless, colourless, visceral, and genderless; undermining traditional notions of identity such as gender, race and ethnicity. The effect of current social conditions creates a personal response to a common sense of displacement, time, spirituality, belonging and relevance.
